Cape Peninsula

Kamps Bej

Tokom leta privlači mnoge južnoafričke i strane posetioce.

Camps Bay

Camps Bay is an affluent suburb of Cape Town and the small bay on the west coast of the Cape Peninsula after which it is named. In summer it attracts many South African and foreign visitors.

The Twelve Apostles are part of the Table Mountain complex overlooking Camps Bay. The mountain range stretches 6km almost to Hout Bay. They actually consist of eighteen peaks.

Zaliv Haut – Ostrvo Duiker

Hout Bay – Duiker Island

Duiker Island is an island off Hout Bay near Cape Town. It is 77 by 95 metres in size, with an area of about 0.4 hectare.

The island is renowned for its marine wildlife, including the Cape fur seals and marine bird species such as the common cormorants and kelp gulls. It is visited regularly by tourists by boat via Mariner's Wharf in Hout Bay harbour.

Rt Dobre Nade

The Cape of Good Hope

The Cape of Good Hope is a rocky headland on the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa.

A common misconception is that the Cape of Good Hope is the southern tip of Africa, based on the misbelief that the Cape was the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian oceans. In fact, the southernmost point of Africa is Cape Agulhas about 150 kilometres to the east-southeast

As one of the great capes of the South Atlantic Ocean, it has long been of special significance to sailors, many of whom refer to it simply as "the Cape.

Bartolomeu Dias, the first European to reach the area, arrived in 1488 and named it "Cape of Storms". It was later renamed by John II of Portugal as "Cape of Good Hope" because of the great optimism engendered by the opening of a sea route to the Indian subcontinent and East Indies.

Kejp Point

Cape Point

Cape Point is at the southeast corner of the Cape Peninsula.

The cape is located at about 2.3 kilometres east and a little north of the Cape of Good Hope on the southwest corner. Although these two rocky capes are very well known, neither cape is actually the southernmost point of the mainland of Africa; that is Cape Agulhas, approximately 150 kilometres to the east-southeast.

The peak above Cape Point is higher than that above the Cape of Good Hope. There is the old lighthouse on the top. The Flying Dutchman Funicular runs from a car park to the north up to slightly below the level of the old lighthouse, and steps lead to a viewing platform around the base of the lighthouse.

Sajmonov Grad - Bulders Plaza

Simon’s Town - Boulders Beach

Simon's Town is a town in the Western Cape, is home to the South African Navy's largest base. For more than two centuries, it has been a naval base and harbour (first for the British Royal Navy and now the South African Navy). The town is named after Simon van der Stel, an early governor of the Cape Colony.

Boulders Beach is located a few kilometers to the south of Simon's Town. There has been a colony of African penguins at Boulders Beach since 1982. There is no record of the birds having lived here prior to that date. They are shown, with scenes from the town, in the 2021 series, Penguin Town.
