Trip to China came more or less unexpected.
I wanted to see the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, The Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors. The information I had about China came mostly from, pretty biased against China, Western media. I didn’t know what to expect.
Well, I saw what I wanted and much more. I was pleasantly surprised what I experienced and saw in China.
China leaves an impression of a well organised country; it looks that everything is in order. It has impressive architecture, wide boulevards, cleanliness, a lot of greenery, high-speed trains and more and more electrical vehicles…China is way ahead of all countries I had chance to visit.
Pollution is still high (at least in the cities I visited) but, I believe that it is going to be sorted out very soon.
Impressions and comparisons were done on the basis of my experience in China and information got from our guides.
Vise sam nego prijatno iznenadjen onim sto sam doziveo i video.
Kina ostavlja utisak sredjene zemlje gde sve ide svojim tokom.
MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS / MOJI PRVI UTISCI
Smart telephone
In order to enter and leave China, it is not that you have to apply for the visa (which equals to citizenship application), you must have a – smart telephone. It is the only way to complete the health declaration, generate the QR code and submit it when you enter (and leave) the country.
It is believed that 90% of the Chinese population owns a smart telephone. It is widely used in communication with foreigners; since the majority doesn’t speak English, they use telephone translation application.
Pametni telefon
Not many passengers on the plane for Shanghai
Flight Melbourne – Shanghai was approximately 60-70% occupied. It seems that China is still not in demand.
Empty airports
Airport in Shanghai was almost empty. In comparison with airports in Abu Dabi, Doha, Dubai… it looks unreal, like in Sci-Fi movies.
Airport in Beijing is also almost without passengers. It is believed that it is currently the biggest airport in the world.
Prazni aerodromi
Control
In order to enter a train, public transport, museum etc. locals need to show ID card (beside the entry ticket) and foreigners their passport.
According to our guide, very soon it is not going to be necessary; facial recognition is going to be introduced soon.
Our guide’s explanation: “The Government wants to know everything: where you are going, with whom you are going, for how long you are going to stay there… the same as my wife”.
Kontrola
“Bullet” high-speed train and railway stations
The high-speed rail network in China is the world's longest with a total length of 42,000 kilometres. The speed is 300-470km/h.
Railway stations look like airports: from their sizes to organisations. They are organised as international airports around the world; passport control, luggage control, security control… Waiting rooms, boarding etc.
Actually, everything is the same only instead of the airplane you enter a train.
“Bullet” (metak) brzi vozovi I zeleznicke stanice
Population
Shanghai’s population is 26 million, Beijing 23 million. It is approximately 3-4x more than Serbia for each of the mentioned cities.
Something is coming to my mind: what if Serbia starts advertising tourism in China. Chinese people find it attractive and some of 200-300 million come to Serbia.
What would we do with such a huge number of tourists?
Populacija
